Volunteer

Many who are new to animal rescue begin helping with projects outside of the facility.  For instance, they sew scarves for the animals' web portraits, make small quilts and animal beds, organize supply & donation drives, and more.

We will also be happy to help you find a niche here at the sanctuary, matching our needs with your skills and interests.  Volunteer opportunities are wide-ranging and include the following:

  • Brush cats
  • Groom, bathe dogs
  • Assist at adoption events
  • Table at community events
  • Socialize Animals
  • Walk dogs
  • Improve the sanctuary
  • Help clean animal habitats

Please be willing and able to make a 6-month commitment with a minimum of 6 hours of volunteer service monthly.

To volunteer at Nevada SPCA you must attend a one hour volunteer training class held every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the Nevada SPCA.  You must bring proof of Tetanus shot to the volunteer training.  Your Tetanus shot must have been givin within the past ten (10) years.

Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age, due to insurance liability.

Group volunteer projects need to be planned directly with Nevada SPCA's volunteer coordinator.

Thank you very much for your interest in helping us save animals' lives!
